Equip Yourself

I played RPG games as a kid.  Final Fantasy series on Nintendo in the early 90s was some of my favorite memories.  I loved opening chests and getting a weapon that was OP.  Leveling up characters and taking on a boss and just destroying that boss in a few hits was my goal.

I did not like losing, so I would train up my characters, even paid my brothers to grind for me so that when I faced the enemy I was too powerful.  I realize that this method didn’t allow me to play many games, just a few because I invested a lot of time to be super powerful.

My girls do the same today with one game from China called Genshin Impact.  They have spent 100s of hours and thousands of dollars on their characters and weapons. Most of the math they learn and stats comes from playing games not from school.

I get an out of the blue message from Joe Wilson, the very first mobile app designer I met in Utah many years ago.  He had very successful apps on the App Store before Instagram and all the apps we know.

When he sent me a Volley (app he made that is video messaging) showing these rings he had made and asked me if I wanted one…I had the little 11 year old in me freak out a bit.

It wasn’t too different than the feeling of opening a chest in my favorite RPG.

Here are the two accounts he made for these rings:

I met with Joe and I took home 3 artifacts after visiting with him. I don’t know what powers they have, but every unique item I equip, be it a jacket or a wig or a necklace, seems to give me conversational power. I make new friends and tap into energy that wasn’t there prior.

He doesn’t sell these, which makes it even more epic part of the quest.  I had to unlock the secret and meet with the Ring Maker in his village to be gifted these artifacts.

The best is this double finger ring that was found at the crash site and detailed here

So now I want to share Joe’s craft with the world and I asked him if he would be willing to do a demonstration of all his collection and hear his wisdom as a ring maker and an artifact collector. The date isn’t firm but if interested, come to the free event by signup up here: https://lu.ma/j9vx2shw

Thanks for reading my dailys. I put a lot of effort in doing this and the reward is the replies I get each day and the intentionality I live with knowing that my experiences will be journaled each day.

I really love doing events like this and show and tell of people’s talents. If you would like to do a free event that would bring random people together to learn, let me know.

Happy 4:20
