Driving with Apple Vision Pro

I have a reputation for doing things that are borderline dangerous. In the first month of owning my Tesla I rode in the back seat while the car autopiloted on the empty highway towards Vegas. I don’t share that video anymore because I don’t want Tesla to take my auto-pilot privileges away. It was also 7 years ago, so maybe it’s beyond statute of limitation?

This week a video of a man driving a Cyber Truck while operating his Apple Vision Pro went viral. I talked with the owner of the car, SupeCarRon, and found out that it has hundreds of millions of views across several platforms, but it was leaked and shared.

It was done here in Utah, so many people thought it was my stunt, as this is very much a Scott Paul move. Nope, not me, I haven’t tried cyber truck driving or the goggles yet. I will be using Apple Vision Pro today and let you know what I think. I have had my partner call me from Vision Pro and it was surreal how it looked and how I could see their view on Facetime. The biggest win for this product is how it will work within the Apple ecosystem and do calls and messages, which Facebook’s Oculus just never did well. Now you can work and stay connected without removing them from your head to look at your phone or computer.

I will have many more posts on what I think is going to change with the first real adoption of VR for humanity. Oculus brought the gaming and most of our first experiences with it, but I am willing to bet no one reading this spends more than 30 minutes a day in VR at the moment. In 2024 that will change for all with Vision Pro. I predict millions will be spending 2 hours or more a day. Travel in airplanes make the most sense at the moment, and Apple even made that commercial below.

See you tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day… and everyday until I die, or not die.
