These 2 Dogs

I haven’t told the story of Lily and Suki. Lily joined us in October 2014 and Suki in October 2021. They spend their nights at the foot of our girls’ beds. The first year we had Lily she was ran over by a car and we thought she was going to have to be put down because of the pain and she could walk. We had a miracle and she was nursed back to full health.

I am reminded often by my kids that the life of these dogs are more important than my own. I am not bothered by this statement…they are perfect creatures who don’t do anything but bring joy.

These days I am showering Suki almost everyday because she plays in the mud somewhere on our ranch. I think she likes the showers more than mud…and I keep falling for it.

I am very thankful for these animals. A species that combines with humans better than any other. If you are not sure you have purpose on this planet, then get a dog companion and that might be all you need.
