Dune IRL

I went to Dune at my local theater last night. It’s showing again in select theaters before Dune 2 releases. I’m totally invested. Did some reading on Frank Herbert and realized where he got inspo: “Another significant source of inspiration for Dune was Herbert's experiences with psilocybin and his hobby of cultivating mushrooms”.

My friend, Travis, is making a Dune like landscape in the desert with OutpostX. I feel more of us are wanting off world life via mushrooms and or desert and sand hotel experiences. So much is happening around us that makes me think we are entering new world of self-sovereignty. We can go and do what we think is best for our well-being and find community doing the same no matter what the special interest or niche you find yourself drawn to.

I am drawn to ideas and builders. So many people around me are making something physical or/and digital. Humans are busy building stuff. Travis is so fun to watch as he digs holes and tunnels and even pathways for water to flow around his hotel experience. I feel like he is doing what we all used to at a sandy beach as a 7 year old, pure sandcastle mode.

Off to Vegas in an hour. I will share if anything happens noteworthy.
