Byegone

This music was introduced to me by my cousin, Billy, who was always into the most unique tunes. He studied music, was in several bands, and teaches music to this day. Last September I decided to gather my brother and two cousins in an AirBnb for a weekend to reminisce of our youth a little.

We stayed in Grass Valley and ate like kings and listened to bands at bars and bought some games to play at night. We all grew up hanging out every summer and holidays playing in the orchards south of Chico in a town called Gridley, where my mom is from.

Volcano Choir was introduced to me at this time last year. I then streamed it for a straight 3 months and even had a moment in a helicopter over Sedona last year flying through canyons while listening to this very song. Lots of their songs just resonate into your deep tissue. It helps that Justin Vernon, whose voice is familiar to any Bon Iver fan, does many of the vocals.
