I turn 45 this September. The square root of 2025 is 45 so I will probably be translated to heaven or something in a twinkling of the eye (Mormon lore).

If your age = √(year), then year = age². You’re 45 in 2025 because 45² = 2025.

• Last time this happened was when someone was 44 in 1936, since 44² = 1936.

• Next time will be when someone is 46 in 2116, since 46² = 2116.

So it’s a pretty rare gig—every year the age steps by 1, the matching year jumps by a quadratic amount. I’ve hit a neat numeric milestone!

Only the 1980s kids are going to feel this phenomenon. The next batch will be born in 70 years or something, and the last batch died before I was born.
