Who Understands You?

I am writing today’s post while my Southwest flight taxis to the gate.

Trent Mano and I just landed in Austin for SXSW.  The flight felt like just minutes because we can talk intensely for hours without needing a break.  Honestly we could talk for days.  We have so much respect for how the other thinks, and we have so much we disagree on. This makes for a stream of enlightenment because we love each other and can hear what the other is saying even if we don’t like it.

The moment Trent asked this question, I knew it was going to be today’s email subject: Who are the 3 people that understand you the most?

He guessed and said that it was my 3 current partners: Kirk, himself and Natalie that understand me the most. I think he is pretty spot on.

Now do the exercise in your head. Who are the 3 people you think understand you the most?  Would you also be someone that understands them the most?

These are your people.  Go to them with your biggest questions and dreams.

Right when I landed I got a text from my bestie in this town who happened to be two gates down and headed to NYC. Meet Krista who has been a friend since LA when we worked at Disney together and later when she worked at my company called Wooly. She is someone that can get anything done and leads with precision.
