I Am Destined to Die in a Duel

Probably a sword fight.  It’s not that I want to, I just feel this is the only way to die, if I get to choose my death.

I hope that I am not defeated in my first duel. I think I will have several victories before the match that finally does me in.

Do you think a country will exist where dueling to the death is completely legal and maybe even promoted?

We probably will have ability to upload most of our consciousness to another server.  And that new entity, maybe in a younger cybernetic body will sound and look just like the one it came from, but a newer model, a newer Scott Paul. It may be that this new creation that is my opponent in the duel.

It will be asked by the game master: “Do you, new Scott Paul, give permission to old Scott Paul to duel to the death with sabers?  And next the game master asks me, the original Scott Paul, “Are you ready to face your new self in the battle for your old life”? And then we see who wants to live more. Eventually I will give way to my new self to go forward and be Scott Paul, until he is one day faced with a duel of his own.

I know this duel to the death is the antithesis of my company’s mission at Phi, but I can’t help it when my brain wonders about such subjects like what would be the most glorious way to die.
