Everybody Hurts

This is one of the songs and videos that I remember where I was in Walnut Creek, California as a teenager watching this video. The 90s were a time when mental health was very stigmatized and this song was one of those that spoke to me and made me feel seen. I realized that, in fact, everybody hurts sometimes. You just need to hold on. Everybody cries. You are not alone. Michael Stipe probably helped millions of people with this song.
